Research Interests and Publications
Mr Poole has published research and review papers in peer-reviewed journals. His research interests include fracture fixation, pelvic trauma surgery, hip replacement for arthritis and acute trauma and rehabilitation. Clinical Experience
Mr Poole has had a broad training and wide experience in Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery. He graduated from University College London Medical School with MBBS in 2010 also with a BSc in Infection Science in 2008.
He completed basic surgical training in Wessex, before Specialist Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery training in the Kent, Surrey and Sussex region. He was awarded FRCS (Tr & Orth) and Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training in Orthopaedic Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of England and admitted to the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council.
He then underwent further advanced fellowship training in Pelvic and Acetabular trauma and Hip reconstruction at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, South Australia in 2020-21. Whilst in Australia he gained experience and accreditation in robotic hip surgery. Mr Poole has been a Consultant in Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery in Bristol since 2022, specialising in hip arthroplasty (primary and revision) as well as pelvic and acetabular reconstruction and complex lower limb trauma.
