Mr Robinson is a NHS Consultant Foot and Ankle Surgeon and Honorary Lecturer in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery at Southmead Hospital, North Bristol NHS Trust. He also has a practice at The Spire Hospital Bristol & Nuffield Hospital Bristol. He specialises in all sports related and degenerative foot & ankle conditions. Medico-legal & Medical Negligence Experience

His Medico-Legal Reports are prepared to the guidelines introduced by the Law Society and the British Orthopaedic Association and conform to Lord Woolf's reforms. Mr Robinson acts equally without bias for plaintiffs and defendants.

Research Interests and Publications

Mr Robinson has particular research interests in minimally invasive / percutaneous hallux valgus (bunion) surgery and foot & ankle trauma. Clinical Experience



Clinical Experience

Mr Robinson gained broad experience in Orthopaedic and Trauma surgery whilst completing his training in Bristol. He then completed advanced foot & ankle fellowship training in Sydney, Australia, where he developed skills in minimally invasive ‘keyhole’ bunion surgery. He then completed further foot & ankle and trauma fellowship training in Bristol. Mr Robinson has been awarded The Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training and is therefore privileged to be listed in the General Medical Council Specialist Register. He has specialist experience in the management of all foot & ankle conditions, including sports injuries and arthritis. Where possible he offers minimally invasive techniques and arthroscopic surgery. He is the orthopaedic clinical lead for the local diabetic foot clinic. He is an active member of the trauma team at North Bristol NHS trust which is the regional major trauma centre dealing with all complex trauma.

Mr Robinson is involved in the systematic critical analysis of his own and his colleagues' standards of medical care at the Avon Orthopaedic Centre, Bristol as required by the Department of Health.

Teaching



Teaching

Mr Robinson works in a teaching hospital and is, therefore, responsible for tutoring junior doctors, medical students and allied health professionals. He is the educational lead for the Trauma & Orthopaedic department at the Avon Orthopaedic Centre, Southmead Hospital, where he is an educational supervisor to training surgeons and runs the departmental teaching programme. He is the Orthopaedic lead for the North Bristol Academy at the University of Bristol, responsible for the local delivery of undergraduate orthopaedic training and is a medical student tutor. He obtained a distinction in the Postgraduate Certificate of Medical Education in 2017. He lectures and trains locally and nationally on courses, including training surgeons in minimally invasive bunion surgery and the regular twice yearly SOC GP and physiotherapy study day.
